This may be a little late.
However here's some suggestions:
*Check sources against other secondary items.
*Use other sources in conjunction with the secondary ones used.
*Conduct your own experiment to see if the findings are accurate.
Personally I don't understand why the question wants you to assess the reliability of secondary sources? As primary sources would be easier to assess i.e. multiple trials, have constant/independent/dependent variables, etc.
