For bio assignment I have to make a dichotomous key for the following plant leaves: casuarina, black river wattle, eucalypt, kikuyu grass and a flatweed.

We already went for a field study to collect the leaf samples.

What distinguishing features can I use to classify the leaves into a dichotomous key?

Please help!

btw, i have already made measurements of leaf dimensions. also we had to look at it through a microscope (or something similar) to look for features.

please help!
ive already started my key and im stuck.
if one of the properties of a plant is no hairs, and there is only one plant left out of my unused plants with no hairs, could i use it in my key? because one of my other plant has no hairs as well but ive already got it eliminated on my key.
for example:
a dichotomous key with jelly fish, kookaburra, possum, kangaroo
lets just say my first level is has a pouch and has no pouch: that eliminates the kangaroo. then on the next level i say, has fur, but the possum and kangaroo both have fur. does that mean i cant use the characteristic of has a pouch.
