So if I wanted to progress to Death Metal, those are some of the bands I should look at? Okay ^^

A fantastic band to listen to if you want to get into Death Metal is a band called Opeth. It does sort of throw you in the deep end, but there's plenty of non-heavy breaks and interludes and what not. When I first heard em, when I was 14 or something, I got freaked by the vocals but you definitely learn to appreciate them and how they add to the music.

Agreed. Opeth are a great one to get into. Cynic are very similar to them, so I'd suggest you check them both out.

new kalmah album came out a couple of months ago, i only heard about it last week, downloaded it, pretty good!!!!!!!!!!

Cynic are not similar to Opeth...

But Opeth are fantastic...

A good way to jump into Opeth is to listen to Porcupine Tree before them (get used to the prog style, the seemingly disjointed song writing etc)

these days i listen to insomnium, nightrage, nile, kalmah, wintersun.

none are really all that new, first 3 released a new album last year, kalmah released new one coupole of months ago, wintersun only have 1, but it's amazing.
