For the locus bit:

Let C be midpoint of PS, ie. C (ap, a/2(p^2 + 1))

ie. x = ap, y = a/2(p^2 + 1)

ie. p = x/a

ie. y = a/2((x/a)^2 + 1)
2y = x^2/a + a
x^2 = 2ay - a^2

lol, if you put the parabola x^2 =y that would see a ton of mistakes, better to learn now than later

its not that bad, just takes a little getting used to, wait till you get to projectile motion thats practically all co ordinate geometry and parametrics
