How hard are they compared to HSC Exams?

Do people struggle to pass them?

Depends on the course. Some have very high fail rates, others not so much. So long as you're not completely retarded and actually put in a decent effort you should be fine.

The noticeable difference is that uni exams do not generally have 'surprises'. For HSC I remember no matter how hard I look through the syllabus or how hard I studied, there are nearly always instances where I look at the question during the exam and do not know what they want. Nonetheless, uni exams can still be very hard - for your information, there is one 1st yr economic course at unsw with a fail rate of around 30% (nearly 1 in 3 people fail just to put it in perspective). For most courses, fail rate do not exceed 10%.

The general consensus is that unless you have some serious personal or family problems, or work commitments or if you're really lazy, then you can't fail.

Uni exams...? I found them about the same difficulty as the HSC. However, they scale these things and I haven't gotten my marks back yet so I don't know definitively.

Do you think you did well?
I found my Accounting and Economics exams to be quite easy - especially accounting... that was like... super super super easy.

So I have good feelings about them.

I felt I did only "pretty well" in maths and I ended up with 84 as a provisional overall mark - so... if that trend continues, HAPPY TIMES AHEAD!

Microeconomics 1 - what I did - basically covered supply and demand, monopolies, perfect competition, games, provisions of public services...

I'm on holiday right now so I don't have my econ stuff right now with me - but.. once I get back home and if this thread is still going and if you ask again (because I'll forget) - I'll quote the chapters and my notes or something.
