What ranks do I need to get 97.5+?
I do:
English (Standard) - 102
Biology - 26
Chemistry - 10
Mathematics Extension 1 - 8
Mathematics Extension 2 - 4
Studies of Religion II - 12

School rank - 138

Also to compare, what would I need for 90 if instead of Biology I did Physics with a class of 16 and instead of MX2 I did mathematics with 26 people?

HSC

English (Standard) - 5/102
Biology - 4/26
Chemistry - 2/10
Mathematics Extension 1 - 2/8
Mathematics Extension 2 - 1/4
Studies of Religion II - 2/12

Thats a rough idea of what you would need. Its a little bit difficult to give you a more exact estimate of what you need as only their are only a small number of people in some of your classes. Sorry I couldnt be more helpful

You're not a good estimator. No offence.

low band 6/high band 5 in everything will get you there
So like?
English (Standard) - 87
Biology - 95
Chemistry - 90
Mathematics Extension 1 - 93
Mathematics Extension 2 - 90
Studies of Religion II - 90

Calculator says 98.65 but I don't think I'll get that... :/
Although if it wasn't for my shit ranking/not doing anything for the first two assessments I could probably get a state ranking in English from the shit I'm doing now. :/

bro u r hilarious
why would u ask for people's estimations if you think you know it yourself
well I know that maths in wrong. What he wrote was just stupid. Everyone in the mx2 class run every year at my school gets an E4 because they only let the smartest kids do it.

also i am telling you from now, you will not get those marks
well I know I'm getting an E4 in mx1, mx2 and bio... So yeah...

I do:
English (Standard) - 15-20 / 102
Biology - 2-3 / 26
Chemistry - 3 / 10
Mathematics Extension 1 - 3 / 8
Mathematics Extension 2 - 2 / 4
Studies of Religion II - 2-3 / 12

School rank - 138

Just my guess considering your school rank is pretty decent.

riproot just dont fuk up english and ull get their easily. one of my friends is just like you, gud at maths and science but does standard.
so instead of aiming for like 99, his english is pulling him down to 95-96. so yeah just get a highish english rank and ull get 97.5 easily. what do u want to do at uni?

Mate, his English rank is fantastic. He is on 87% and yet is 13th, that suggests that he has a strong cohort, and therefore can easily maximise his english mark come the Exams.

Are you for serials? If so I'm already halfway there. :)
Yeah fo' sure. You have to remember as well; that you do very good scaling subjects like extension maths, so your going to kill the ATAR. Where as me, im screwed for scaling.

GL bud.

The problem with standard is the aligning. I remember in my year, students who were killing standard throughout year 11 and 12 just managed to scrape low-80's in the HSC. Even to get a final mark of 87 is very difficult.

I heard that Both English's scale the same. Surely they can't deny some standard person(s) who have done well. Can you explain why this is so? Is it the quality of work produced or?

Both standard and advanced scale the same, although standard aligns poorly. Aligning occurs when your raw HSC exam marks are altered to your final exam mark. For example, in standard, a raw mark of 80/105 might only align to a final exam mark of 80/100. Whereas in advanced, a raw mark of 80/105 might align to a final exam mark of 90/100. Last year only 64 students out of the 30,000 that do standard got a band 6.

So, use me as an example. Im not that great at English, looking at mid to late 70's. but after aligning i could end up with mid 80's?

Its very difficult to tell because internal marks are also changed, added to the fact the the aligning process changes from year to year.
