Not really. It's a educational skill demanded by a portion of the population, and it's simply being catered for. It's exactly the same as a normal event management course, just further specialised for those entering this industry.

Does it matter? It's event management, a course taught at many universities. The fact that it happens to have a practical component shouldn't change that.
