hi :)

economics is my worst subject by a fair bit. i'm not terrible, but I don't seem to grasp how to answer the questions properly. i know the content but i can't seem to communicate it. whats more, I am so terrible at answering mutliple choice even though it should be the easy part. i really want to get a band 6 for this topic so can someone give me some overall tips on how to do well?

I find MC to be the most difficult tbh, only way is to practice and practice.

What are your weakest areas besides that?

Man up, and boss the essay.
Essays only count for 40/100 marks in the exam.

i think it's the longer short answer questions, like the ones worth 5 marks or above

My best advice for you is that you buy leading edge workbook and also dotpoint textbook :) they will help you ace any short answers/ MC..

eco is all about knowing your content and also concept :))

good luck. btw MC is my weakest section also :(

i always get full marks or close for short answers, always 17/20 for MC and high for essays

Long short answers shouldn't be too much of an issue, they're a bit like the body paragraph of the essay if you want a comparison. I think exam practice is crucial for you.

Exactly, essays are the hardest imo then MC.
I disagree. If you know your content and fairly up to date with economic data, essay questions should be fairly easy. This is compounded by the fact that an economic essay is structured rather simply as well.

Whereas in MC, you're given 4 answers to a question, usually 2-3 can be deemed as correct. Of course, the aim is to pick the best one but that's not easy.

I've found the short answer questions in Tim Riley's workbook most replicate what you get in the HSC.

I agree with you reason, but my teacher marks super hard for essays and never gives full marks for them.

Haha COME AT ME BRO!!!!!

As you say that you grasp the content, my only advice is to revise like crazy. Get your teachers to mark your essays. Multiple choice is just a skill of deduction. There'll be two answers which'll be obviously wrong and two which are similar. The best student can distinguish between which is "most right".

I get 18/20 for all my essays, i even get 19/20. I just never get 20/20 (Maybe it is because my teacher never gives full marks) but i have gotten 100% for MC and mulitple choice before.

Yeh, most teachers have this mindset that there's never a perfect essay. Heaps of my teachers even admitted that they never give 100% for essays. I guess it harder to measure people skills with essays as opposed to mc or short answer (where there is a definite answer).
Essays are my weakness (kinda weird as i do ext english).

Yes, is that a problem?

Um, it's perfectly possible to achieve a 20/20.
I know but my teacher doesn't think so.

Is your teacher a HSC marker?
Yes, all my teachers are.

All my teacher say they don't like giving 100% to essays and they never have (Internally, they say they have always giving 100% for essays for the real HSC)
