As an uneducated individual, I can confidently say that New South has a better rep than USyd.

Better? UNSW
Better reputation? To be honest, both are equal. No employer is going to throw your resume in the bin because you go to USyd, rather than UNSW, as far as I know.
Teaching? UNSW
Credible? This is the same as reputation, in my opinion. So equal.
