Ok so it's simple,

Differentiate:

2x^3 + 5x /x

Thats two x to the power of three plus five x all over x.
Its easy but the answer I get doesn't match with the textbook one!

Well if you read the whole question you would see that I said my answer doesn't match with that of the textbook. As far as I'm concerned the textbook must be wrong because everyone here has got the same answer as me..

u= 2x^3 + 5x v= x
u'= 6x^2 + 5 v'= 1

y'= (6x^3 +5x -2x^3 -5x)/x^2
= (4x^3)/x^2
= 4x
