More people do Modern History, Ancient History & PDH/PE than do Physics and Chemistry.
Actually, I think this statement is wrong isn't accurate.

Top 10 Most Pick Subjects (Excluding English and Mathematics):
1. Biology
2. Business Studies
3. PDH&PE
4. Ancient History
5. Chemistry
6. Modern History
7. Visual Arts
8. Studies of Religion I
9. Physics
10. Legal Studies

Well not really depressing in the sense of the mark, depressing in the sense that you were "so close, yet so far" from 100 :p

Assuming first ranked gets 100%, then for Mathematics, there was 1 student, for Mathematics Extension 1 there was 1 student, for Mathematics Extension 2 there was 1 student, and for General Mathematics, there were 2 students. That's not 20; that's 5.

EDIT: unless you meant overall, which in that case, you'd be right.
Family friend got 100 in mx1, wasn't state ranked.

^Did they not do MX2/not do so well in MX2, because I think they take that into account in ties.
I think in this case they didn't get 100% raw mark. For example, one of my friends got 83/84 this year which was reported as 100 but when they calculate state ranks, they go to decimal places so someone that got 84/84 would have beaten him.

Yes, I meant to say Business Studies and not Modern History. It still makes the point I was trying to make, doesn't it?
It's clear that only a minority pick subjects for their scaling although the difference in candidature size is quite small.

I just checked around for raw marks:

Mathematics Extension I
TM: 83/84
TWM: 83/84
Exam Mark: 49.8/50
Course Rank: 52/9114
If he's rank 52 with 83/84, wouldn't 51 people be getting 84/84?
