umm what
Banned
for alkanes, alkenes, alkanols , alkanoic acids, anything
increasing the carbon chain length increases their boiling and melting point and the energy released (for alkanols)
I know MPT AND BPT increases because they have more dispersion forces b/w molecules....but what accounts for increase in the energy released?
is it because more covalent bonds b/w carbon molecules are broken, thereby increasing the energy released?
Any help would be appreciated
