B5/B6 Cut off (3 Viewers)

I actually thought this exam was pretty easy, minus the q16 o_O

Hoping for mid-high 70's. :D If the band 6 cutoff is 75 then I think pretty much all of my cohort is likely to get band 6, or at least guaranteed a band 5 since I'm ranked third last LOL. I reckon band 6 cutoff will be 84 and band 5 will be 70.

Last year's paper was waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy harder imo.

how did you guys find the second equal angle in the similar triangles, i ended up producing lines to prove it, there must have been an easier way. my guess is 84 cut off for band 6

Angles on a straight line = 180. Opposite angles of a rhombus are equal, therefore angle sum will be the same for ANGLE:EDA and ANGLE:BFE.

The other one was corresponding angles.

Proof: AAA or equiangular.

Many ways to prove the angles were equal, Construction works, but I did two of them were equiangular as they were corresponding, therefore the third must also be equal.
As the triangles were similar the sides would be in the same ratio. Ended up getting that second part as something like a+b(allover)ab

Question 7 MC I mc I substituted a whole range of numbers on my calculator and realised that I kept letting x^2.. ?? :S

it wasnt so much so hard, it was just long. so long that it is incredibly easy to make silly errors.

Yeah I used the same proof but just realised I FORGOT TO WRITE EQUILANGULAR ..will I lose a mark? :(

In cambridge text book they just write AA. hope HSC markers don't cut marks for that. Would be quite pathetic.

74-75 for a Band 6?????? WTFFFF, more like 85-88 since the exam was quite easy apart from 16.c)

if 74-75 was cut-off then I can get 100 easy.
lol you clearly haven't learnt anything about aligning from the economics exam threads...

I got 77 in CSSA ranked 2nd in my school which is bottom 50 in NSW lol , got 75-80 in this exam will I get a band 5?

for proving similar traingles. did anyone show all three angles are equal or just AA?

I think you are only allowed to use the AA proof but must say therefore the 3rd angles are equal
