The only way to be able to handle any graphics settings above "Medium" without spending over $4000.. Is to just buy a PC. Gaming simply cannot be done adequately on a laptop.

This.

Any laptop is stupid expensive compared to their PC counterparts.

Only stating facts mate.

$400 desktop= $800 laptop.

So unless you're going to do some gaming at school, get a decent PC rig and a (very) basic laptop to type documents on at school.

Mine cost about $1400 (it was premade) and yeah, it can game. Not very well, but most issues are usually fixed by turning down the graphics settings on games. I don't play too many AAA titles on my laptop, but I've found that's worked for every game but Dead Island, it's only just barely playable D:

i only play MOBAs and RTSs which arent as heavy on the graphics as some other games like FPSs, so in that sense, they handle perfectly.

Have a flick through some of the ones on here. http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/index.php

I bought the laptop I'm using for them, for under $1000 and most other places for similar specs, and battery life I'd be paying an extra $300 or so. I'd recommend staying away from Acer and Toshiba, Acer is hit and miss and Toshibas have overheating issues.
