Someone from my school told me that the published ATAR found in the UAC guide are main round ATAR numbers and that the numbers for final rounds are lower than those in the main round. Is this true?
Take law. In main round offers there are a fair few offers, so the cut off is low. But final round offers have fewer offers, so more demand. Hence ATAR rises
Thanks for clearing that up. Anyone else familiar with this?
I've also been told that the ATAR cutoff will from now on starting next year (for HSC 2012) vary more greatly due changes in the way the government allocates money to courses. Do you know anything about this?
