l can't enrol! (1 Viewer)

l'm doing aerospace engineering.
so l kinda have to take ENGG1000 (Introduction to Engineering Design and Innovation)
but l want to take MATS1101 (Engineering Materials and Chemistry) as well as my 1st year elective
but for ENGG1000 there's a lecture at monday 2-5, and there's another lecture for MATS1101 at 1-3, so it's not letting me enrol for MATS1101.
and no, there isn't another lecture at another time.
what should l do?

With all my friends who have enrolled in Engineering for UNSW 2013 and for the other timetables I've seen, there have been a lot of clashes with ENGG1000 should still enrol though! It'll be red but still fine I believe.

it's red and not letting me enrol for MATS1101, because of just one bloody hour -.-
l've enrolled for the other 3 courses though.

I think they are doing MATS1101, but they still managed to enrol with it :/

I think ENGG1000 you can't change but what about MATS? If there is no other possibility, contact UNSW, not sure which office you call and they'll allow the clash. Try asking from the HUB

they probably enrolled before me and got all the good lectures lol

The lecture times do not clash, however, the only available time slot for MATS1101 Lab 1 of 2 clashes with the ENGG1000 lecture time slot.

Just watch the website with the time slots like a hawk and if someone drops out of it, try to enrol in it.

You will most likely need to choose another subject. If you are doing aerospace, you should probably do: MATH1131/1141, PHYS1121/1131, ENGG1000 and ENGG1811 (or COMP1911) for first semester.

No worries. IMO, MATS1101 would have made your timetable worse.

Yes. In when you first go to the timetabling page, next to where all your courses are listed you will see "remove" and "swap". Click "remove", then re-add the course and then redo the classes you want to re-timetable.

That's how I do it anyway. There may or may not be an easier way.

If you mean, enrol into UNSW, then the late enrolment fee is $250.

If you mean, enrol into classes: there is still plenty of time. Census date is early March, that's when you can no longer change your classes/timetable. Just make sure you don't change your timetable times to find classes that are full.

That's how I do it anyway. There may or may not be an easier way.

It's better to use swap because if you drop a course, you lose guarantee of being enrolled in that course, so someone could take the spot which you just dropped, potentially leaving you with crap times. If you click swap, you are kept in the course and you can change your lecture/tutorial/lab times with assurance you're still in the course.
