Yeah. Well we use Physics in Focus at our school and there's no precise, clear cut definition of a third dimensional wave.
Like it says a one dimensional wave = one direction, e.g slinky,
two dimensional disperses energy e.g water waves after pebble dropped,
but for third dimensional it refers only to EMR and goes straight to an example of sun giving off light.
So yeah my question is how do you define a third dimensional wave.
