Hey everyone, im in year 10 atm and i was wondering if there are like requirements to do courses e.g. Extension 1 English and Maths etc.

The requirements really depend on the individual school. For example, at my HS, you had to be in the top 50 in Year 10 maths to qualify for 2 unit and the top 30 to qualify for MX1.

Can anyone give me a list of subjects they were/are offered at their school in year 11-12? I just want an impression of what subjects i might choose...

I am doing Advanced English, General Mathematics, Biology, Community and Family Studies, Italian (beginners) and business services.

Well, my school was fairly average and the top 50 represented nearly everyone who did 5.3 in Year 10. You could qualify if you were outside the top 50 by doing an exam covering 5.3 material, although no one chose to try it. By the end of term 1 in Year 11, about 15 people had dropped out.

Where the average mark in my year was around 45%. Although in fairness, we were very strong in Maths at the top end and we had an outstanding maths department.

I still need some time to test my capabilities and see the subjects Im good at. Is there any way to find out what im good at? Can someone tell me how they found out?
