Not sure if serious (sorry) but diagonals in rectangle are equal and bisect each other.

X=5 cm (because, diagonals that bisect each other are equal)

Hence, the triangle is isosceles (because, same reason as above) so theta = (180-48)/2 = 66 degrees

In the answer they first calculated the area of the triangle by 1/2bh by using 12 and 16. Shouldn't QS be used as the 'h'?

Look at the TWO BIG right-angled triangles

Areas areas are the same,







12 x 16 = QR x PR

QR = 192/PR

Find PR using the glorious Pythagoras theorem

They are the same triangle, look carefully, the 2 right-angled triangles are the SAME

Well u can obviously see one triangle is PQR (with right angle on Q)

The other triangle is QPR with right angle at S
