From what I understand from what my teacher was telling us, we need it to give examples very much like texts for and English essay. Say for example you suggest a business to use a specific pricing method, you can then use another business which has used this particular method and how it has worked for them. Hope this helps

You pretty well need one that covers the key aspects of the different parts of the syllabus as Section 4 needs you to apply a case study to your extended response but you should be writing about the theory and then the case studies you allocate should support your answer. However you can also use them as examples in the short answer to show you have depth in your answer.

^ Basically as jack said you use it to reinforce your argument in section 4, and nowadays they can ask you to give examples on contemporary examples in short answers.
