If you attend another university for one year is the transfer to macquarie uni based solely on your university marks or 50/50 atar and uni?

Well it depends when you want to transfer.

If you attempt to do so after 1 semester, your ATAR would be considered because your university marks wouldn't be released in time.

However, if you do so after 1 year (2 semesters), your university marks would be considered. They usually take whatever is higher (with the exception of law and medical courses).

Would you happen to know what uni marks are required for commerce at Macquarie?

Well I reckon to be sure, a credit average (around 65). You could probably get it with a pass average as well, but it isn't guaranteed.
