86 and BRZ are pretty much 99% similar, how do they compare to 2013 GTI?

Stock vs stock the 86/BRZ has a better power to weight ratio than the GTI. The GTI is front wheel drive, 86/BRZ rear wheel drive.

Admittedly the lower drive train losses and fact that the gti has a lot more torque thanks to the turbo would mean its quicker in every day driving, but not as fun or good looking. (Subjective, but most will agree the 86/brz are better looking and a good handling rwd sports car more fun than a fwd hatch)

i need anything under 50k preferably 30-40k that looks good, has good acceleration, turbo, and preferably 4 seats. no second hand crap.
Not even second hand @ ~10,000kms? Let the original buyer absorb the initial depreciation rate and costs.

Or the Hyundai Veloster (has a Turbo version too with some sexy matte grey paint). Was one of the cars I considered.

Or you could be a bogan and get a HSV/FPV haha.

... Definitely don't buy an 86/brz then, an auto 86 just isn't right.
fuark, then my life is ruined. i am perfect at manual at NFS, lol. How do you learn manual in real life, is there some class/course you have to attend or is it just buy a manual car and learn from experience?
