but on a serious note, maybe keep it for now and if you do decide to change later to single comm this will require you to do some gen ed courses (i think) so you will already have them covered by doing the law you're doing now

Ultimately I want a job
In commerce which she says I will not be competitive for without a law degree due to high supply. But I just want to finish earlier, have work life balance and enjoy university!
I'm glad someone understands. How should I approach foundies for
The rest of the semester? It takes up a lot of my time and I genuinely dread class! expected to have cases prepared etc but I can't risk failing

I think just do your readings and attend revision classes (towards end of sem) when senior students run them. Still attend your current class. I know you don't like class discussions but try to participate at least once a lesson or once every two lessons. You get marks for class participation and that's like worth 20% of your final mark.

It's unfortunately a very crappy course and there is really no way to brace yourself for it besides doing the readings. I am so glad I somehow got over that semester >.>

Isn't it the other way around? It is harder to find a job in law with only a law degree. That's why "better" universities make you do a double so they don't look mad when you can't find a job?

Law gets harder than 1052 though right? You are making me feel semi like I am dropping law because of a silly reason, and its suddenly going to be wonderful.
I really just want to get on with life though i.e. graduate when im 22 not 24!

It will still be hard, think about it, there will be 10 thousand odd people graduating every year (no doubt most of them chinks) so you have to make your self stand out, so decide whether that be by doing combined law or internship or whatever

I was under the impression most international students went back to their home country to find employment :O
So I assumed there were actually a decent amount of jobs, not easy tofind a job but by no means impossible.
What if I just did reasonably well- High credit/distinction average and found a part time job for now and an internship later?

Well yeah most do go back to their home countries so maybe 5 thousand odd. But some of those people may be "in search of a better life" and stay here (imo, these people are better than most people on the dole)

Decent amount of jobs here AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA LOL DECENT AMOUNT OF JOBS HERE AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOL. There are limited jobs around here, I've applied for literally 120 part time jobs in the summer holidays (with experience, and extra circular debating and more) but only got 6 calls back. Many didn't even call or email me about the status of my application. My cousin who has just graduated from engineering/commerce had to jump through many hurdles to even get a job related to his degree (though he ended up in America). Getting a job now days in Sydney will be very very very difficult but not impossible. Like j said before do things that make you stand out like internships, involved in the community, know the manager from a networking event, etc

But in all seriousness; you can only do your best so let life figure out your path, who knows you might end up as some big shot accountant at a corporate firm or be starting your own business in the suburbs. (Hope this makes you less unhappy )

Yes definitely!

My degree is good. First year engineering is all maths and physics so really not so interesting right now but ENGG1000 is quite fun. I plan to drop the science degree after a discussion thread I had on BOS. Really I was in the same situation as you just less serious

Dw I am also very paranoid. I like everything to run smoothly and that's hard to do if you don't know what's going on. What you're doing is fine ans understandable you don't like law so you're choosing not to continue (notice how I said [typed ] you're not parents). If it helps, my parents wanted me to be a doctor and they said for me to do biology but I didn't so I just borrowed a biology book from the library and left that to lay around my bedroom. Maybe borrow one of those fancy books lawyers put behind their desks to pruce up the place.

Yeah most programs are just science and maths, but once you get to the higher level and more specialised stuff it gets 10 times better.
