So I just realised I'm ranked 11th in maths and it's safe to say my cohort is terrible at maths so it's likely my marks will be in the 60s. If my maths Mark is in the 60s and everything else 70/80s is it likely I could attain an ATAR of 70?

Post your school ranks and your ranks for the rest of your subjects then some people here could give you an idea of what ATAR you're most likely to get

Maths rank 11/69 usually get 70s
Standard English is 2/72 usually get 65/70
Legal studies is 2/13 usually get 80s
Business studies is 1/9 usually get 70/80s
Modern history is 5/29 usually get 75

If he's first it will make no difference, if he's in the top few it won't change much, if he's average or below average it will have a detrimental impact.
