black pen: class notes and for scribbling down information then highlighted or added with colour
blue pen: study notes, exams; personally more eye-popping to me
exam: write in black or dark blue pen. Black is preferred
(every single exam for scanning purposes..)

other reasons: not pleasing appearance wise, bored of using the colour from the past, other people using it
