I would say difficulty for Advanced is 7/10 and Standard would be like 6.5/10. Only difference between both levels is the prescribed texts and thats all.

Same, my school also. But you can use other textbooks at home for questions to have an advantage over your peers?? I think that's a positive way to look at things

In my opinion, whilst advanced is very slightly harder than standard it is much harder to get a band 6 in standard opposed to advanced.

@Ambility , Math in Focus is a bit unpopular along with the Mathematics textbook crew because it's a bit too simple and basic

Thanks guys about the adv/stand english thing, because they make such a huge deal that advanced is that much harder. The texts in standard are easier (and more interesting) to read than advanced ones im pretty sure
