It just dawned on me that a whole generation of gamers are going to grow up not knowing what cheat codes are or the satisfaction of learning a trick like entering in a button sequence or a random name yielding special rewards.

Whilst I understand the business model behind IAPs, I can't help but feel disappointed

The GTA V exception I feel is a unique one since most games now really do rely on IAPs rather than cheats to get 'ahead'. I just miss the novelty of it all.
