I am in year 11, I am doing Ext. and Adv. English. In year 12, could I drop advanced English and just do Ext. 1 and 2. If so would this bring down ATAR/marks.

Thanks, jackthommy99

No. You can not drop Advanced English.

You are required to do Standard English or Advanced English or ESL to be eligible for an ATAR.

It dosn't work like maths extentions where you can drop advance maths for ext 1 and 2. In English you have to keep adv eng when you do ext 1 and ext 2.

You can't drop Advanced, although technically you could just ignore the subject, and the two units of Advanced don't have to count as the units of extension are sufficient for your two units of english

edit: just to be clear lol /wouldnotrecommend

Yes, because it is your best 2U of English, so that could work. I am just thinking of this because I am not enjoying advanced, but am finding extension way more enjoyable.

Thanks for all your replies and help, It is greatly appreciated:)

Extension 2 is four units because of the two units from Advanced English, and you can not drop the latter subject.
