The following shows the refractive index of various materials.
Vacuum/air=1
Water=1.33
Glass=1.52
Diamond=2.417

Calculate the critical angles for diamond and glass.

Do I calculate them seperately by using the ABSLOUTE refractive index of each? E.g for glass sin(i)/sin90=1.33/1 and for diamond sin(i)/sin90=2.4
or
Do I calculate them together with RELATIVE refractive index? If I do do this how would I know where the incident ray is coming from to know the n2 and n1?
e.g sin(i)/sin90=1.33/2.417 or sin(i)/sin90=2.417/1.33?

I wrote a bunch of stuff, and then I understood your question.

I think it wants you to do it relative to vacuum (so the absolute) because it says diamond and glass rather than diamond to glass
If it said diamond-to-glass or vice versa then I would do relative (also if it did say that, I would show both angles so if going from diamond-to-glass and going glass-to-diamond)
