I want to do 14 units in year 11 and I know that is not advised but at the moment I am doing the prelim course for extension 1 maths which means that in year 12 I would have dropped 3 units meaning that in year 12 it would only be 11

Thats good to know. So how did your school arrange your timetable?
Like any other? I have my Math Ext. 1 and Music Ext. classes before school Math Ext. 2 after school. I have something like 3 study periods a fortnight.

If you have decent time management skills then it should be fine.

Are you planning on doing 4U maths in year 11?

If so, I'd rest easy knowing that 4 units of your HSC is going to be maths and try your heart out for them, that honestly leaves you with technically three 2-unit subjects you should worry about in year 12, I don't think you should overload on subjects and use the extra time to get a state ranking in the 3-4 2-unit subjects you will do (thats about 6-8 units in year 11 + 4 units for 3U/4U?).

Although that's if the school let's you do that.
