Find what y equal when x=1.01
Find y'
Find what y' equals when x=1.01
Sub in y-y1 = m(x-x1) to get your equation
Find y'
Find what y' equals when x=1.01
Sub in y-y1 = m(x-x1) to get your equation

It's asking for gradient.
Find y when x = 1.01
Sub two points into m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

I also must emphasise to the OP that you shouldn't round any numbers while you're doing this until the very last step (the final answer). I don't think jathu123 did this, but the way he has typed in the second line may make you think that he did. Just sayin'.}$ When $x=1.01, y=(1.01)^4+1 = 2.040604... \\ $ Gradient $=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x1} = \frac{2.0406.. - 2}{1.01-1} = 4.0604 \\ \\\mathbf{(b)}$ Repeating the process again, we get 3.994 )

I did keep it as exact as possible till the very end indeed (as seen by the ellipses if you are talking about the line with the fractions)
