I got 2 weeks to complete my H.I.P because I was away for a month and was unable to complete any work on it. I have to research a topic of my choice and answer two unseen questions in class. Can anyone suggest a topic I can easily research fast in time for the in class assessment? I was thinking of Civil Rights Movement but does anyone suggest anything else?

That Sounds Great! just speak to your teacher before beginning just in case it is a case study for yr 11 or 12 (I don't think it is, but I am not 100% sure).

I mean ultimately go for the topic that interests you, if you find the Civil Rights Movement interesting and engaging, go right ahead and use it as the basis for your assessment. Study in depth as much for your chosen topic, I don't think there is a 'fast' topic, just depends on how fast you can remember the information and is able to apply the information to your exams. Know your topic very well, the origins, the impacts, the effects, the issues, there are so many areas you can focus on for your topic, as long as you choose something you are genuinely interested in and you'll be right. Good Luck!! :)

My top 3 options were The Great Depression, The Bubonic Plague, and the history of anti-Semitism.

I basically looked at my syllabus and was like if I could pick my own modules, what would I want to learn about?

Basically they've given suggested topics and given us points on what to focus on like for example they gave us the civil rights movement and to research segregation in the 50's. The first question will be to describe one of those points and the second question is to analyse reasons for something that happened in the chosen topic. We need to base our research off the given points and thats all they can ask us about.
