So I've been noticing as I do practice questions that I know what to do in a question, but I end up making a really dumb mistake like getting a sign wrong or writing down the formula incorrectly. This is really worrying because I've been doing this consistently no matter how many practice questions I do.
Does anyone have tips on how they effectively avoid or improve this?? If there are any, hopefully :(
(I know the usual 'check over your answers again' tip but I'd just like to minimise the amount of mistakes I make in a test)

The problem with checking your answers over, is that sometimes you would think it's right in the back of your mind so it could blind you from seeing the mistake.

What I would do is that I would read the question thoroughly a few times (even though it's something I'm familiar with), and then do the question a bit slower than my speed during practice. Essentially don't rush, as obvious as it sounds, anything could happen in the heat of the moment.

This would only work efficiently if your "normal" pace would allow you to finish the test with a lot of time to spare, so if aren't fast enough, then I would say that there are probably still some holes in your knowledge.

I'll try re-reading the question and more slowly than usual. I dofind that I miss certain things in the question sometimes which is yikes,,
Thank you for the response!
