What did you guys think about standard?
I thought it was a good test, found the last multiple choice question weird so I just guessed that. I was able to complete all the tests and go back and check most of it. Not really too fussed over anything. Except I have seen heaps of people use 0.088 for bac and I just rounded it to 0.09 which subbing it back into the formula was a difference of like 8 minutes between using 0.088 and 0.09. Don't think it will matter though as I did round correctly just to two decimal places instead of 3. Was expecting a harder last question but I really liked the test. Also the receipt one got me good I was so confused until I realised how simple the question was.

Anyway let me know what ya'll think

Nothing too controversial on this paper. Students who learned their course could answer every question. Interesting to see if people found it tight with time. Q18 might have tricked a few people if they added the 19 and 36 to try to find the total score. Yes, I had to think about the receipt question too. The radial survey question was interesting. I needed loads of extra space to do the networks questions. I wonder what sort of detail you would need for the box-and-whisker question when comparing the sets of data.

The last question on annuities was a nice question which required some careful thought, but I though the second last question with the scale diagram was a big ask for most students in trying to work out a scale by comparing speeds.

i did have to rush my checking going through the paper i was thinking ahh how am i going to get through this?" For the box and whisker plot i assume they will give 2 marks for the actual box and whisker. Then i just wrote about the difference of the median, how b had a higher range was positively skewed and compared it to a. which I think was all that would have been required. I thought the scale drawing was a simple question but i knew some people would have struggled. What do you think about me rounding to 0.09? what did u do?

p sure A was positively skewed (to the left) and B was negatively skewed (to the right)

yes b's tail was to the right- which makes it positive. a's tail was towards the left so it was negative

The golden rule is not to round off until the final answer. I kept the BAC to 10 sig figs, ended up with a final answer of 6:23 am. But in that question early rounding will probably be accepted if all the working is shown.

yes i know i know i don't know why i did it tbh i just knew that normally bac's are to two places. yeah i think the whole rounding will be fine for this question, though who left it at 10 sig fig like you got 6:23, those who rounded to 3 got 6:22 and those who rounded to 2 got 6:30. I did show all working so fingers crossed.

thanks!! appreciate the help! but for qn 19 it wasn't an outlier since cutoff was 163.75.

Thank you for sharing your answers!

I have a couple of answers that don't agree with yours.
In Q30b) I had CGHE which gave a total of 11km
In Q42 The first $2000 is deposited at the end of the first year, so only 5 of the 6 years earn interest. I got $13 373.60.

Thanks for this. You're right on Q30. I drew a new diagram and left out the track CG as well as the track CH which was the one that was closed.

In Q42, you're right in that interest is only paid in 5 of the first 6 years, but the annuity table takes care of all that, so you still have to choose 6 years from the table. That gives you the starting amount for the 7th year.

FV after 6 years = 2000 x 6.633 = $13266
Interest for 7th year = Prn = 13266 x 0.05 x 1 = $663.30
FV after 7 years = 13266 + 663.30 + 2000 = $15929.30
