What rankings at school would I need if I want an atar of 97 or above? I go to a school ranked in the 60s.
My current year 11 subjects:
-3u maths
-3u eng
-chemistry
-physics
-multimedia

Edit: or, how many band 6s would I need?

All depends on how high your school usually ranks compared to the state in those individual subjects. If you want a 97+ ATAR a good place to start would be top 5 in all your subjects

Wouldn’t worry about it, if the science is super iffy you just have to make sure you get a higher rank (top 2-3) to ensure it doesn’t affect you too much

Not really too dependent on rankings like I got 95 in 2u maths with rank 11 and 96 in 3u with rank 5 or 6. More dependent on how your cohort is overall

I recommend doing as well as possible in multimedia because it scales really low. try to aim for a high band 6 if you want those 2 units to go towards your atar

11/67 for 2u and 6/47 for 3u I think, my school ranked about 35th
