The first attachment is from UAC regarding UNSW double law, and it’s just to show you an overview of the lowest, median and highest atars and selection ranks.

The second shows how the lat works

and the third shows what we need to be competitive

Hope this helps :)

Is the median LAT score of 77 referring to all the candidates, or the ones who were accepted into the course?

Most probably all candidates, but this is 2019 data

Ye I was about to say, 77 seemed quite low for successful candidates

Do they give their lowest combinations? i.e. lowest atar &or lowest LAT result

I think it’s the combination so the lowest atar, plus adjustment factors may give that lowest selection rank, or it could be the other way around, it’s a bit unclear

No way. Maybe with a 99.95 ATAR.
You think so? I think that’s strict expecting students to preform higher on a test we’ve never seen, and have no practice material for

Surely they scoff at anyone below a 90 LAT result
I attended their info session for the lat and they said someone who got an atar of 88 or something and a lat score of 82 or something similar got entry including adjustment factors

But that's (less so but still the same(ish)) like the UCAT. People still manage to get in the 99th percentile on a test they've never seen before

I think this was an individual from a rural area, with easier pathways into the course

From the info it looks like 77 is the median LAT score for entrance - it’s next to the median ATAR so makes sense. Remember all people that sit it would be inclined towards law (obviously).

Since law is not seat constrained unlike medicine, don’t treat it as such. Unis are generous and can (and will) dole out a lot of seats since law is relatively cheap to teach and commands high fees thus is a big cash cow. Exception is probably USyd but then they make $$$$ out of their postgrad JD.

But that’s really rare right, so they’ve for to cater for everyone

Same for the lat, I’ve hear some people get 99s and 100s
