hi, so i got into b laws/ b psychology for macquarie but i was wondering if its not a good uni for law and if the reputation is not good which makes it easier ot get in to?

Congratulations on your offer! Generally speaking, USyd and UNSW are generally perceived to have highly reputable law schools, which is the reason several students attempt to study Law at either of those universities. However, the legal industry is quite competitive, irrespective of the university you attend. If you are able to achieve great results (leading to a great WAM) at MQ, then the potential concern relative to the reputation and prestige of the university will likely become less significant/relevant as your results throughout your time at university will demonstrate that you could make a great legal practitioner, making you a competitive candidate when looking for a job.

It is important to keep in mind that results are also important, particularly for a field like Law. There is no point in successfully receiving an offer to study a Bachelor of Laws at either USyd or UNSW, but later failing to perform to a high standard, when you could've gone and performed well at a different university.

While Macquarie University is indeed a good university for Psychology, those data are a bit outdated, and the rankings seem to be determined based on criteria that seems rather subjective. This is a good example of why university ranking lists should not be viewed as a priority when considering which university to attend.

Regardless of the university, a career as a psychologist necessitates further study, which is something to consider.

Same boat here, the issue with a degree like this is practically you can only go down one path. Psychology requires a 2 years masters before accreditation and also an honours. Was your offer for psych hons or just psych?

Going down the law path requires you to under go practical legal training at a university which takes about 6 months to 1 year before applying for supervised practice for 2 years.
