So it must be the version for when x>1. The answer is kinda wrong though because it excludes the possibility that a=0, in which case x would be equal to 1 so in the middle one

The syntax of piecewise function function is

f(x) = { value1 condition1
{ value2 condition2
{ .
{ .
{ .
{ valueN conditionN

The syntax means if condition1 is satisfied then f(x) will take upon the value of value1. Similarly if condition2 is satisfied f(x) will take upon the value of value2.

Understanding this the question should be fairly easy.

surely give us (i.e., me) a quick rundown 🤩
really quick because I need to sleep
\\ = new line
\therefore \pi \alpha \whatever = symbols
\frac{thing}{things} = fraction
*, +, -, ^ = what u expect them to do
that’s the essentials

u dont rlly need to learn it altho u should have done these questions in functions its just like knowing if its positive or negative or no
i feel like my school just skipped over so much content bc other schools even said that they've done transformations of functions n graphs since yr 10 but the first time i saw them was in yr 12...
