My teachers have told me that the markers are paid based on how many papers they mark. So if they stumble on a few messy words they'll just skip them because they want that $$$ and don't have time to psychoanalyse your hieroglyphics.
since theyre marking just based on paper, they probs dont even read half of it

Feeling decent about paper 2 but not legendary

Mod A: going into the exam I was most confident about Mod A, don't think it was my best but 17/20
Mod B: was so unconfident about this but I think I slayed, I completely thought 'constructed' meant how Ishiguro's context influenced his writing, not the form itself, but I still wrote about form so we're chilling: 19/20
Mod C: HAHAHA the most boring and stupidest story I've ever written, also almost forgot to talk about hope in my reflection, 15/20

FINALLY some other school that does it!! I really did not enjoy writing about it at all until today. But I'm so happy the question was broad because it meant I could talk about fallibility of memory, intergenerational conflict (Ishiguro's thatcherite era in the 'construction'), and my absolute favourite deontological/consequentialist views of moral responsibility

Ah hell nah you make my essay sound like a 5yr old wrote it 🤣 . I did Ono's unreliable narration, his intergenerational social interactions, and the aesthetics of the novel and how all of them are constructed to externally or internally project his trauma and hesitance. Didn't mention thatcherism once because honestly I never even found out what it meant 💀

And yes the question was very generous, it's not hard to talk about how a novel is structured. But maybe I didn't address the whole question since there were some other words like intellectual and personal engagement or something but I couldnt be asked.

Oooh the external/internal projection is a very good critical examination of his relationship to society though. And yeah I have no clue what thatcherism is either!! I just sprinkled something about increasing imperialism in the UK and capitalist prioritisation of the autonomous economic agent and will cross my fingers that my marker is too tired to think!

I might be remembering wrong but I’m pretty sure one of my teachers said they’ve changed the system recently so its not based as much on the number of papers anymore, could be wrong though

hopefully bc thats not a good system if teachers are just pushing through papers as fast as possible. I mean for maths and science and stuff thats fine but for english? I reckon its important to take a bit of time and try and understand even if the handwritings rushed.

Although on the other hand this girl next to me who finished the exam 30 mins early (not bc shes good at english, other way round) had the most immaculate perfect handwriting ive seen in my life and i was just thinking how tf am i meant to do that trying to write fast

Bro put his pfp as pacino from looking for richard for +10 skill in Mod A ☠
Pacino is more than 'pacino from looking for richard'. Pacino is my idol. I worship Pacino. Every night when I go to bed I tuck my Al Pacino body pillow in to bed with me. So, if you'd please, do not disrespect the one and only.

Honestly there's no way teachers don't give biased marks to people like that with immaculate handwriting. Even on a subconcious level.
