Nesa released marking guidelines for 2023 maths adv hsc. https://educationstandards.nsw.edu....-54cf4f3a-49d5-46ee-bb9d-f5ea9fad707a-oJBh5RA

however for the koala question, they accepted both 36 and 37 but I left my answer on purpose as 36.72 since in 2021 question 22b they also left it as a decimal, as seen:

surely they let decimal slide since i legit thought about the 2021 hsc answer during the test and left it as a decimal on purpose rather than rounding up/down. Do you think ill get the mark? Also what will the b6 scaling cut off this year be like? Im expecting like 74 raw

omg I was thinking the exact same thing, I didn't round it either because I remembered this question and how they just left it as a decimal

I reckon you’ll get the mark as long as you specified how many decimal places you rounded it to, i.e. (2dp). You’re showing the marker that you know how to get to the answer either way.

The exam wasn’t that difficult in my opinion, so I believe the cutoff for band 6 will sit around the high 70s, maybe at 77-79.

cant remember if I did to 2dp but that makes sense.

Also for 2022 it was 79 and it was far easier than 2023, so surely it will be similar to 2021 scaling?
