Are we supposed to use personal pronouns e.g. 'I believe this text...' or 'provokes our inner consciousness" in Mod B essays?

my teacher said we can and should, the other teacher said we cant at all
idk anything about english at this point. i think collective personal pronouns like we us our are safe, not sure about i and me tho.

i think collective pronouns are fine but personal ones will sound 'too colloquial' - you could get marked down based on the marking criteria "uses language appropriate to audience, purpose and form"

No on the personal pronouns, that ruins the formality of your essay but 'our' and 'we [as the audience]' is perfectly fine. Use them sparingly though as too much of those as personal voice and the personal nature of a response is not entirely dependent on how much you can "make it about yourself" in the form of pronouns and still feels very informal
