Maybe im the one one that does this subject but any predictions??

Hopefully it will be similar difficulty to last year's paper

For Engineering Studies in the HSC, based on past trends, the exam tends to include questions covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Last year’s paper was considered balanced, with a mix of straightforward and challenging questions.

Here’s what you can expect based on past years:

  1. Core Topics: You will likely be tested on fundamental engineering concepts, such as mechanics, materials science, and fluid mechanics. Make sure you have a solid grasp of formulas and applications for things like stress/strain, Young's modulus, moments, forces, and beam analysis.
  2. Historical/Current Engineers: These questions often require knowledge of the contributions of specific engineers or innovations in engineering fields. Understanding the impact of different branches of engineering (civil, mechanical, aeronautical, etc.) is important.
  3. Case Studies: Be ready for questions about engineering materials, with an emphasis on properties and applications of different metals, polymers, and composites. Recent innovations in materials science may also be covered.
  4. Design and Problem-Solving: There’s often a focus on understanding how engineers approach design challenges, optimization, and sustainability in modern projects.
For the best preparation, focus on practicing past HSC papers and questions, especially under timed conditions. Based on previous patterns, the exam shouldn't have major surprises but could emphasize emerging technologies or more complex problem-solving in the practical questions.

Didn't know there was a dedicated place to make these threads before I made mine, oops

I also think there would be a bit more mechanics questions this year. Also, is the general consensus that the engineering HSC has gotten a bit easier over the years? Dunno why tho since they all run on the same syllabus since 2011

yes its gotten less specific, like you don't have to memorise key properties of specific material, just its role

Yup. If you look at the test papers for hsc engineering science on google https://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/hsc2000exams/hsc00_enginsci/99ENSC3U.PDF , which was a subject that use to exist before 2000, you will see they are actually physics questions. The formula sheet also contained much more than the subject physics does now. Don't know why the woke liberals want an engineering subject to be theorized

In case someone wanted it!

The term "woke" originally comes from African American Vernacular English (AAVE) and referred to being aware of social and political issues, especially those related to racial and social justice. It gained popularity in the mid-2010s, especially in the context of movements like Black Lives Matter. "Woke" was initially used to describe someone who is aware of systemic injustices like racism, inequality, and discrimination.

Over time, the term has evolved and, in some circles, has taken on a broader or even more negative connotation, often used pejoratively to criticize people or organizations seen as overly politically correct or excessively focused on progressive causes. Some critics claim that "wokeness" can be performative or lead to polarization, while supporters emphasize its role in raising awareness and fighting for marginalized communities.

have u seen other years past 2000... there's equal amount of phys and memorisation
that's the year every science hsc subject went to shit. Physics and engineering turned into a literal "how did discoveries make society a better place" subject. These woke liberals probably tried to encourage more girls to join by removing math and making it a memorisation humanities subject.

just look at these cringe ass questions (14 marks for a humanities essay in this one page ) While it is better now, its still full of memorisation such as module 8. I don't give a shit about stars and the big bang. What a joke.

I don't have to tell you which one is more academically rigorous. In fact, the 2000's and prior hsc physics course involved more math than it does now, even with the current new syllabus. Goes to show people who run the education system are uneducated. I wish the hsc physics we do now was like 2000 and prior.
