For the guys who do extension 1 or 2 math, are we allowed to derive our own formulas for mechanics? As in do we have to use those suvat formulas or can we do the questions like projectile motion/resisted motion math problems. Because like I really donโ€™t like using them idk why they would use s for displacement and u for v0 itโ€™s just wack

They use s for displacement cause displacement can also be vertical y axis. x base y looks bizzare compared to s base y

yeah fair enough bro, just been using x and y a lot for my other subjects, it should be easy to start using the physics notations again. But I just would rather stick with what I have been practicing, but definitely wouldn't want to do it at the cost of lost marks.

yeah stick with physics formulas, maybe you can use the ext 1 or 2 way to check but obviously don't write it on the booklet they scan

I thought NESA went away with these history essay questions in physics. Why the fuck is it back in the 2023 paper? Hope we don't get these boring ass questions in the 2024 exam. This question doesn't even require knowledge of physics ๐Ÿ’€
Facts bro if they make us recite the name of every scientist who tried to measure the speed of light or some shit im gonna go crazy

I just looked at the chemistry paper for 2023 ( a subject Ill do next year) and there are zero history based questions. All of them are math and chemistry content with no stupid history questions. Why is the physics syllabus still a dumbed down version?

There are still quiet a few rote learnings in chemistry but I find that their much better planned - I think physics is extremely dumbed down since it caters to all math levels so questions which once required a deeper mathematical understanding have been replaced by memorisation/content dumps - good for getting more people into physics but kinda hinders the breadth of questions - it can't all be calculations/extremely heavy theory wise. Chemistry doesn't suffer to this as it inherently has more memorising involved which actually contributes to understanding, so they don't need to do a history dive as much as physics (albeit theres still history about acid/base theories, Indigenous techniques, monitoring the environment etc.) whereas physics is innately more math-based.

Do you guys know of a good resource to make sure you have all the content memorized for all the modules? I just want to do this in conjunction with the past papers.
