Okay so like I didn't do accel maths advanced, so for my school y12 internals for the first two terms, I need to sit, math adv, mx1, mx2 exams as well as engineering studies that I need to keep just in case I drop from mx2 to 3u maths so I have enough units for HSC. Should i risk it and put all my efforts on mx1 and mx2 and not study for maths adv and engineering studies (my other subjects r physics and eco which I know 100% i want to do for my hsc)? I'm scared I'll do terrible for mx2 and forced to drop and thus, be stuck with terrible maths adv results and engineering?

I did sor 2 accelerated, so should I use that as a safety "two units," until I can drop maths advanced after two terms if that makes sense...???

i think you should focus on ext2 and ext 1 but for engineering PLS DONT NEGLECT IT it is such a broad subject with so much knowledge you need to memorise so make sure you do what carrots say and just grind the syllabus the first term. In terms of maths in engineering it should be fine because you do ext2 so it will be very easy.

I have also had friends who dropped engineering to focus on ext2 and they r doing quite well. Im not saying you should drop but engineering but you should see it as an option if you dont enjoy it

yeahh tbh i don't mind the subject its just that THE WORKLOAD IS INTENSE and I suck at the mechanics bit to a point where I find it harder than economics and physics as a subject....I'm forced to put lots of effort in for the first term cause our first assessment is a group project...but I don't get why I should grind the syllabus about for the first term

Because that way you dont have to suffer at the end of the term you get me. Dont. Be like the rest and cram it before hsc starts. Also its even better to learn earlier if you dont get it so you have more time for other subjects. But yeah engineering can be difficult, i recommend watching john rochford on youtube and there r many free resources here too.
