Right now I am running on 12 units.

So basically I picked up 4u math mainly because of the shit scaling of Earth and I also find it a bit boring. I have 12 units at the moment because if I do rubish in 4u math then i can drop.

The thing is I have just fucked up my advanced test so bad, so my rank for advanced will be rubbish; my only redeemer factor is 4u math now. Should i just drop earth at this point, and focus on 4u math with 2 periods of study a day??

The thiing is I have so many people doubting me for this especially doing 4u.

I would say Im a capable student of math mainly at algebra while my theoretical bullshit probability side is hopeless.

I dont know what I should do, I dont evn know if i can get good marks in 3u let alone 4u..

Also I did get high marks in earth in yr 12.

Bruh, tbh i should of just not done 4u and focused on adv math, im such an idiot.

well I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but 4u involves a lot of the 'theoretical bullshit'

this isn't to say that you aren't capable of 4u, but if u hate the theoretical side of math then you probably won't enjoy 4u

Yea everyone who did 4u secretly did it just to escape probablilty. Be warned that probability makes an appearance in 3u tho

I'd say it's a bit risky. If you really enjoy maths and are prepared to feel like you're on the verge of drowning, then you could do it (the scaling will carry). I think also depends what you mean by flunking advanced. Was it bad, or was it BAD? If you're not absolutely sure maybe hold on for a little longer to see how you find the rest of 4u?

I'd say it's a bit risky. If you really enjoy maths and are prepared to feel like you're on the verge of drowning, then you could do it (the scaling will carry). I think also depends what you mean by flunking advanced. Was it bad, or was it BAD? If you're not absolutely sure maybe hold on for a little longer to see how you find the rest of 4u?

i mean it wasn't like bad like i failed, it was just bad for a 4u student, like i think i probably got a minimum of 75% with around a maximum of 85-90%, but i guess we will see. there is also a small chance i could somehow be in the low 70s but idk. My other 4u mate also did shit in it apprently, i was not expecting so much probability it did me so dirty.

thats not as horrible as it could have been and def not unredeemable imo there is still hope for you

but in the case you do badly in 4u or smth you need to have safety so i would highly recommend keeping earth especially if you're already decent at it and you can cope without putting too much effort into it

You can resit MEx2 if your school allows.

My son also accelerated and considered resitting MEx2 for a shot at a state rank, but NESA’s rules are that it is the most recent mark that counts, so I advised him that he was already ceiling bumping therefore he could just as easily have gotten the same or possibly a lower mark.
