oh it's because most of my friends went there and I guess my parents and I want to pursue a higher education. but in that case, I could also put down jr because jr also does edutest.

i have a medal and some badges from yr 5 and 6 for maths olympiad but apparently the school's don't really care about them according to some people I asked. i also have a writing comp certificate and grade 4 piano if that's good enough. i also have a leadership trophy from primary school. i don't think this is enough though and by the way, wouldn't the higher schools not care about academics since they have so many people who are good at them already?

thanks for replying though :)
hey so i actually tried out for edutest in yr 8 and i got like almost all grades A plus i did a bunch of extra cirriculars but to get the skl to actually accept u, you need to get at least like one superior. i got 2 high averages and 3 above averages but that still wasn't enough. u dont need to get all superiors but im pretty sure if u at least get superior in one then u should be fine. im trying out for edutest again this yr and im also trying to upgrade skls cause mine's not that great and i want higher education. also the tests u buy on the edutest website are lowkey useless from my experience, like they're good to show u how the test is like but the real test is harder than they make it seem and i did older grades when i was practicing in yr 8 and it still didn't help much. ive read that a bunch of others agree but maybe it'll work for u :)

oh ok i also have almost all a's too but not a lot of extra curricular sadly (is it ok to not have a lot?). also sorry I don't know what a superior is. is it like being top 10% or something? nonetheless, no wonder the edutests were easy (although I made some mistakes) and ill use my extra credit for a higher grade one. by the way, do you have any tips on how to reduce mistakes? even if I double check my answers, my brain still thinks its correct and doesn't read the questions properly. thank you

yh thats fine as long as u have at least three u should be fine (i have a friend who had 1 and almost got in). superior is the highest grading scale in edutest marking. so there's six levels based on how well u did compared to everyone else: below average, low average, average, high average, above average and superior. as for ur mistakes, do the tests again and again until u get full marks for each. it'll let u recognise the patterns between the ones u got wrong

well im not sure if its the same for junior yrs but i read on bos that a student who tried out for nsg in yr 10 last yr got like one superior and some high and above averages. she was scared she wasn't going to get accepted but she did eventually. then again the competition for younger yrs are much harder so u probs need 2 at least :)

I mentioned this in a previous comment but I have a medal from olympiad, a writing comp certificate and grade 4 piano😅
I'm not sure if that would work out well
thanks for the advice too

Well I did the exam last year for baulko entry and honestly I knew I didn't stand a chance I had no extra curricular, mid grades, and I had all above averages in the edutest. I used the edutest pack that you can find on the baulko website and that didn't work so I recommend using smth else. I also know that no one really transfers in year 8 so there's a very very limited spot amount for year 7s going into y8 I don't remember much about the exam but the writing prompt was a narrative we had to write about not knowing our parents jobs or smth like that. Best of luck! I hope my info can help you smh
