I feel realy stupid. I found that test hard idk how people found it easy. What am I missing? The first half was alright but Q14 I had no clue.

Q14 was bad and i couldnt do anything but the clock question.
The random proof question about the multiples of 60 or whatever absolutely stumped me, not bc it seemed crazy hard but because we haven’t learnt anything like that, and I didn’t have enough time to sit there and try to figure out what it was asking!
I heard the 4 unit people found it easy and almost think its a little unfair that they added a question like that... it was only 2 marks though.

I think there’s a disproportionate amount of super smart ppl on BOS bc only the most invested ppl make an account and start posting.

there is nothing on nesa website about embargo. trying to shutdown online discussion of exams after they finish is futile.

i have also been told the "embargo" extends beyond the paper itself - and extends to solutions as well and discussion as well. how futile is that?!!!!!!

it's cause students sitting paper overseas haven't sat paper yet. if nesa are too lazy to give them a different assessment, then how on earth are they going to shut down discussion for a whole day? it's ridiculous.

Are you able to actually confirm the instruction explicitly/officially comes from NESA first hand (not by deduction/speculation) and not someone else? My view is informed by a particular recent experience on this site (not going to say it explicitly but you can read between the lines). I’m still skeptical as it just doesn’t add up for me.

Surely that’s unfair for people overseas to be sitting the paper, they should do it so the times overlap

The schools that are licensed to administer the HSC overseas are all within 3 hours of the NSW timezone.

Also, there are controls in place for it according to this:

At the same time as more than 70,000 year 12 students are completing their first English papers in exam rooms around NSW, about 60 students will be doing the same paper in Singapore.

It was a pigeonhole problem it took me a little to realise it but nothing from 4u really made it easier. You probably already know sorry…

initial knowledge of embargo originated with her.

at the time hardly anyone knew about it

i have since learned other organisations have likewise been contacted by nesa to impose the embargo, so it cannot be an error from mansw.

now a lot more people know about it

but what perplexes me about it is why does it seem to only apply to maths? why haven’t we heard about it for other subjects?

i find it hard to believe students in other countries who do the hsc only do maths.

and why is this the first year there is a embargo? students have been doing hsc in other countries for many years and now all of a sudden there is a embargo? that’s kinda weird.

60 has twelve factors. Each pair ie 2,30 4,15 multiplies to 60. You can select one from each pair, 6, but once you select a seventh factor you complete a pair that multiplies to 60

Idk depends on the context, cause couldn’t you have just plugged it in the calculator? The second step doesn’t really add anything to your working

People sitting the test earlier in a different country is also unfair for Australians. They can just leak the questions to a select few Australians, thus negatively impacting alignment and scaling.

bro who would want to put up with mandatory English. Singapores do A Level by default, why would they want to do trash HSC
