Is maths ext 2 scaling that good? Ive been trying to convicne myself that not dropping E2 is the right decision after a task 1 only a bit above my cohort's average. My school generally gets 50-60% band sixes so I guess my question is that is an E3 in maths ext 2 better than a high band six in advanced (95)? Also is an E4 just the hsc mark being 90+ (because that seems pretty high fml)?
Am i making the right decision in not dropping 😭😭 I do enjoy the content but my marks dropping makes it hard for me to stick with it

according to a bunch of people, an e4 in ext 2 is like a 60ish raw or smth

Omg help i totally forgot about the aligned marks database WHOOPS so does anyone happen to know how much a role scaling plays in this after the marks have been aligned? also do atar calculators such as talent 100 expect us to input predicted raw marks or predicted hsc marks

atar calculators use ur hsc marks not raw. And u can also use https://hscscalinggraphs.au/ to compare the atar scaling contribution of math adv and ext 2

look at the whatmean charts. Aggregate contribution for an 83 (low b5) would give a 98.3 contribution. That is arguably better gain than maybe the 94-5 you'd need in advanced for the same contribution

I like how I can explain this steep part of the graph, it's caused by a bunch of stupid UTS prospective losers who picked Advanced just for the sake of doing math Advanced (mostly business studies people)

Yeah but fair enough bc math advanced is a requirement for a lot of courses like commerce law etc so people that aren’t really well equipped with skills in maths still choose it it sucks tho
