yeah i joined ngo in y10, i think i only understand the content lik a few weeks after learning it, or when im actually revising it in school
cus i do also remember sir says the content here is meant to be somewhat harder than school/hsc

well what I used to do is before we started a topic at ngo and sons especially for math ext, I would legit just do the cambridge exercises and mr mai would help me make my problem solving technique better and give me like more examples. This is generally how I survived

yeah i joined ngo in y10, i think i only understand the content lik a few weeks after learning it, or when im actually revising it in school

I mean somewhat, but like if ur actually struggling to understand HOW he does problems then U should probs try like self-learn the topic. The way I saw tutoring was like Id generally self-learn all the topics and then use mr mai to supplement my understanding

no bro im literally in the same class as u except a year ahead, luckily he lets us do the specialist handouts. Ur legit gonna be in the same position as me next year same time.

I also come from a non-selective school outside the top 100, bro its genuinely hard for us to get good at math cuz most people outside of selective schools dont seem to focus on math a lot and the general crowd around us is not that locked in. Luckily I had a bunch of good friends, we kept pushing each other and now we all consistently rank top 5 in our school in 3u and 4u.

also if u wanna do 4u I heavily recommend joining the specialist class, in term 2 I think it opens up U should ask Mr Mai about it. They start the 4u content early so like rn Im ahead of school by like a wholeass term right.

alr bro good luck, remember tutoring will never help u out its only ur discipline and like ur hard work. If u do shit dont blame it on tutoring do more past papers, do more exercises and ask for more help from ur teachers, this genuienly only way to get better at maths. Use tutoring as like a resource place, where u can collect hard questions and learn new techniques. It should be used as a supplement not ur primary source of learning. Cheers,

oh yeah and slowly in yr 12 mr Mai gives priority to 3u content and stops teaching as much 2u, doesnt affect me cuz I do 4u but like a headsup.
