I NEED HELP PLS. so i attend a school which isn't even ranked (if im guessing probably around 600 🥲) and hasn't gotten a band 6 in 7 years. I'm currently ranked top 2 in my cohort and was wondering if its worth it to move? I know its quite late, but i have an opportunity to move houses and go to a public school ranked around 110. I'm starting term 2 of yr11 next term and was wondering if its too late, but if i'm being honest, the reason why i'm hesitating so much is that i'm scared they'd judge me, or i cant make any friends since everyone already has a friend group. I'm super introverted and was told i was dry 😭 but i really want to get an atar above 90. I also don't have a teacher for chem, and my biology teacher doesn't even understand what shes doing 💔 I'm also starting tutoring next term for ext math and chem, (i find biology pretty easy). So what do I do 😭 do I move or is it too late? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED ദ്ദി╥ ᴗ ╥)

plsss move if u can! i also moved to a different school in year 11 and i found friends - don't worry about that, put yourself out there and it should be fine. worst case scenario making friends will be hard, BUT it will be worth it for a higher atar/ more opportunities that can help u in uni or post-high school studies.

Damn thats alot.
If your school is really THAT bad and you are sure you don't want it to negatively impact your atar, then yeah sure go for it. But again I don't know too much so you should probably wait for other people's opinions.
+ Myself, I have moved from highschools to my current one just last year and i'm also pretty shy and dont warm up easily.
Honestly I don't have anything to say but this is gonna sound stupid but just talk. I know it sounds dumb but trust me talk. I didn't talk to people for a while and it honestly made it hard to make friends for myself but it was very easy once I started warming up to people and talking. Try find someone in your new class you can talk to, and you might be able to hang out with them at break, then the rest goes on from there.

Yeah my school is pretty bad. The environment, students and even some teachers. Thanks for the advice, (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) it's giving me hope lol. Ill have a talk with my parents, and ill probably end up moving since everyone ive spoken too tells me its not worth it to stay.

moving from coed to single sex.
ayee i did the same, year 10 coed to year 11&12 single sex. trust going to a girls school is SO fun - i felt so much less embarrassed abt myself lol. its very freeing, so don't worry at ALL about them judging you - ur entering at the perfect time cause by year 11 girls usually have outgrown drama and meanness and pettiness and have actually started locking in and being nice!

I disagree. There’s still so much drama and people are still mean

Okay this is making me less nervous. Hopefully the school turns out to be good, cause my current school is shit. They're all super rude and have no shame. I think a few years back, my sewing teacher got pushed down the stairs by these idiots in my year (poor her- she was old as well), hasn't came back since 🥲

im not too sure about that,
If yr 11, I lowky think that coed schools will be more locked in to impress the opposite sex, but not saying that it can't happen at single sex girls school --> depends on the friendship group

i think it depends on the person just as much. im starting to find that i had an (uncommonly?) positive experience at a girls school, and i personally found it to be very liberating when compared to going to a coed school - less tension, less underlying pressure to prove urself in 'male-dominated' subjects or sports. idk about u, but it was definitely easier for me to open up socially in a single-sex enviornment as well.

but that's just me. of course you could have a different experience, but i'm speaking from my own one.
i hope you will have just as good an experience as me tho!
